Gi Joe: Rise Of Cobra - Review (possible minor spoilers!!!)

"This was probably one of the most stupid movies i have ever seen but with that aside, i actually enjoyed it."
Overall Rating 5/10

So Phil managed to persuade me to go see GI Joe. I wasnt expecting much, especially considering that GI Joe: A Real American Hero, the animated series known as GI Joe: International Hero for us across the pond, was never really that big over here as it was in the states. Much of the toy line had some confusion as it was housed under the Action man name and Action Force. Also, my parents would never buy me GI Joe toys and all i had was some board game that i couldnt understand because i didnt really have a clue what was going on with the characters.

So anyway, my thoughts on the film:
This was probably one of the most stupid movies i have ever seen but with that aside, i actually enjoyed it. As usual though, i'll make the review brief.

Loved:
*Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow. Largely because of Byung-Hun Lee (I`m gonna write about this dude in another article soon (^_^)b)
*Quaid. His role was really minor and one-note but for me, he always has great screen presence and given we could take him back about 10 or 15 years, he would make a great Captain America.

Loved/Hated:
The action scenes were great except that some of the action scenes actually worsened the movie like all that underwater crap that was going on :s

Hated:
*The Ripcord/Scarlett relationship. Awkward & with no feeling at all.
*The lame attempts at comedy
*The "Yo Joe" line near the end. soooooooo awkward lol
*"Boom Boom Pow" during the credits. I think sometimes Hollywood wants to see just how much crap you are willing to swallow. Doesnt even seem like they thought much about the ending theme other than what they thought was "in" at the time. SMH

I wont say too much as i promised only minor spoilers but yes it is very stupid but i think if you can go into this movie expecting a complete bulls* stupid movie with no real intelligence then you will enjoy it. But honestly, i cant reccomend you pay for it.
