I seriously love Marvel Comics. As a library of characters and storylines its amazing and no other company on this planet can boast something similar to what they have. Its like Downey Jr. said:
"You Know What? F*** DC Comics"
- Robert Downey Jr in an interview with
MovieholeWell, its kinda not what i was saying but i wanted to throw that in anyway :p
It can easily be said that i have Marvel comics to thank for the progression of my skills as an artist. From Marvel comics, i have been given something to draw whenever i like. If i ever get stuck there is always a character or storyline that i can pick from my memory to inspire me and so here are my Marvel
artworks drawings:
Nothing new, Just uploading a bunch of my old drawings.
However, i think its quite interesting to scroll through as i`ve sequenced everything so that i have my oldest drawings at the bottom of this post and my newest drawings at the top so its kind like my progression. So my suggestion, scroll to the very bottom of this post and work your way up, i provide comments along the way (^_^)b

Cable & Deadpool
Kinda tricky drawing Iron Man. Damn suit makes things very difficult

Love drawing the Hulk. Its soooo fun. You can draw the most ridiculous muscles on this guy and its kinda ok because its the Hulk :p

X-Men:Origins was coming out, i was hyped.

...and then brought to life digitally

A sketch i drew whilst i was in a Marketing lecture....

Inspired by Ultimate Wolverine Vs Hulk

A collage of most of my Marvel drawings

This drawing of the Hulk still amazes me. For me, its perfect in every way.

Planet Hulk cover remake. except, i hate Doc Samson so i replaced him with Punisher :p

This drawing was also printed in an issue of Ghost Rider. I cant remember the issue of this one either but i have 2 copies of it at home :D

Just a scene from Punisher

My last Turner Variant remake

Haha and they printed my drawings in a Ghost Rider comic!!!! I was soooo happy when i picked up this copy of Ghost Rider and found my drawings in there. Though what they printed is not what i wrote in my mail :s.

Wolverine Origins - Another remake

I was asked by somebody to make a cover that had Magneto fighting Iceman & Cyclops. One of my favourite drawings! I put them on Turner D. Century`s tandem bike. Those Idiots! its made of metal! :p

Female drawing success!! i remade a She Hulk cover to try and work on my drawing skills and as a request from a friend.

Whilst most people busied themselves with the Civil War event, they werent really looking at what was happening in the cosmos. Annihilation is my favourite large scale Marvel event. It made me really care about some characters that i disliked before like Super Skrull and Nova

Moon Knight is an awesome character, kind of a Batman rip off but still, that last MAX series was incredible.

I had never really read Ghost Rider before but as soon as i started, i was hooked. I never really knew where to start before and so i created this comic book cover completely from scratch. I then later sent this in to Marvel Comics just as some fan mail.....

Another Civil war Turner remake

Civil War X-Men #1 Turner Variant remake

Punisher: Barracuda. This was another remake from a scene in the Punisher Max series

My remake of the Civil War #1 variant by Michael Turner. I think it was all these remakes that really propelled my skills. I then later sent some of my Turner cover remakes to Aspen comics and got a really nice reply:
"He loved them! With a big grin on his face Mike said
"Woah - Those Are Awesome"
and then we spent like 15 minutes looking at your myspace account!"
Unfortunately, Michael Turner died last year at the age of 37
RIP

This was the first time somebody asked me to make my own version of a Marvel comic book cover. I`d say this was the most challenging thing i had to draw up until that moment. Rain and stuff? i couldn`t draw that crap! but impressively i managed to pull it off and a series of comic book cover remakes followed from this point.

Inspired by the Planet Hulk event. Which started off great and ended up in a cluster f*** of crap, pointless tie-ins.

I love the Silver Surfer. I think that of all the superhero origins, his was my favourite and in particular i always felt kinda moved by his desire to get back home to his planet. More importantly, to the woman he loved. This drawing however, is pretty terrible.

"I`m The Juggernaut Bitch". Remember that line from the X-Men 3 movie? That line was actually inspired by an
internet parody. Well the guys who made that parody saw my drawing, loved it and asked if they could use it for the intro to their
next Juggernaut cartoon parody.
My first claim to fame ;D. This affiliation with that video actually resulted in me receiving emails from feminists who didnt like some of the things Juggernaut was saying in those videos.

Cute Huh? :D

Look at how cute General Ross is!! ^v^
Well at this point i really couldnt draw well at all but i think for this drawing, the oversized and anatomically incorrect muscles are perfect. notice the complete absence of knees, feet, ears and noses. This continues throughout! lol although i have started to find it easier to draw these parts now but honestly, i prefer to leave out ears and noses because i think it takes away some of the charm in my drawings
