Music: Drive OST

Saw the new movie 'Drive' the other day; a decent film, not as good as the trailers make it out to be BUT the feel of the movie is what really won me over. In actual fact, maybe the movie is not actually that great but the way everything is orchestrated just gives off this cool vibe. Does this make sense? Actually, I'd really like to see it again! :D
A high point of the movie was definitely the soundtrack. Cliff Martinez did a great job with it. Also, two song choices they made that i can't stop listening to:

John's Art: "2001: A Space Odyssey" - Arthur C. Clarke faux book cover

I was making some 2001 artwork and decided to turn it into a faux cover for the Arthur C. Clarke novel. Originally, I was going to have a dream bubble floating up from Hal with an image of Dr. Chandra in it. It would be cute to think that they are equally concerned about each other right? :D. The quote at the bottom is intended to be placed there as some kind of review of the book though it is in fact a quote from the series itself. Also, the basic character model used for Dave Bowman is also the model I've been using to create some artwork for my own book idea. A project which is taking a very,very long time :S

Actually, maybe that series of books and movies has become a bit of an obsession for me. I've watched the movies, particularly 2010, a couple dozen times and in terms of the books I have finished 2001 and 2010 but waiting a while until I start 2061. I think that it would be handy for a long journey and you never know when there might be a need for travel in the near future....

Comics: X-Men #1 - 20th anniversary edition

I havent bought a comic book in about 4 years now but I have to say that I will definitely be breaking that run just for this re-release. Just check out that cover! Jim Lee nailed it! I always wanted to get my hands on this issue and now It looks like I just might! :)

First of all, dont blame me for not warning you because the lyrics on the dirty version are very NSFW. So much so that i felt at times that it was a bit too much and so personally i prefer the clean version. I have to say, I didnt really care much for this song until i saw the video today, which i love and its very fun :D
